DECKSPAN Software (Version 6.02) has been designed to run on Windows 95 or later. It is a stand-alone program that does not use shared files or alter existing settings during installation. However, the program does insert keys into the Windows registry and subsequently reads them. Deckspan is optimised for PC settings of High Color (16 bit), 800 by 600 pixels and Small Fonts; settings can be amended by the user, but the on-screen appearance may then vary slightly from standard. Some laptop computers may work more satisfactorily with the setting of 256 Colors. The program can be run on network systems. Users may wish to seek the approval of their IT administrator, where appropriate, when installing on a network. Deckspan looks in the Windows registry on the local PC to discover where to find it’s help and data files; this entry could point to a location somewhere else on the network (Deckspan itself could also be stored anywhere on the network). Users are also advised to apply up to date anti-virus procedures when installing this or any software on a computer or network.
